Waihunga Moir Hill Scenic Reserve
Located on Moir Hill Road close to MediaWorks Transmission Site is this short walk through beautiful mature forest. Shaded most of the way with tree canopy, well maintained track with plenty of native trees and bird song, is about 1km long (one way). If you’re looking for longer walk, you can follow forestry track next to the track entrance which will take you to Matthew Road (approximately 5km).
Where is it located: From old SH1 drive up to Moir Hill Road, overpass new highway and carry on to MediaWorks Transmission Site. Track entrance is at the end of gravel road.
Approximate duration: 30 – 40 minutes
