Sesquicentennial Walkway

This is an ideal walk for whole family. Walk starts next to the Bridge House Lodge and takes you along gentle meanders of Mahurangi River. Easy stroll suitable for little legs with nice views of the river surrounded by native bush.
If you want to head back to town for cup of coffee, just walk up the steps to Pound Street and walk back. If you’re looking for longer walk, carry on under old SH1 bridge. In less then ten minutes you will get to the Warkworth Tennis and Squash Club. Across the road is Shoesmith Domain with recently renovated Warkworth Primary School playground.
Once back to the Bridgehouse, you can cross the bridge and walk along the river bank to the wharf where you’ll go past Jane Gifford mooring (it’s possible to book a trip – check at local i-site or online). Right next to it is another playground, this one is suitable for little ones.

Where is it located: next to Bridge House Lodge (16 Elizabeth Street, Warkworth)

Approximate duration: 20 minutes

Dog friendly (on leash).
