Omeru Reserve
Approximately 38km from Wellsford (or 33km from Warkworth) this spot has many treasures. Once you park a car and walk down the gravel path to reserve, look carefully from the bridge up the stream to spot Omeru Falls. Beautiful unnamed cascade is short walk from the bridge (turn right). To the left from the bridge opens grassy reserve, Omeru Pa site (Maori village). Past another bridge is short bush walk that goes to Waitangi Falls. There’s toilets and picnic tables.
Where is it located: 1849 Kaipara Coast Highway. From Wellsford take SH16 towards Kaukapakapa, watch out for sign for Omeru Scenic Reserve on the left side of the road. From Warkworth take Woodcocks Road and then West Coast Road, then take SH16 towards Kaukapakapa.
