Green Point Reserve
Quiet shady spot on the banks of Matakana River, not so much of a walk, but perfect place for picnic or simply taking in quiet moment any time of the day. There’s small grassy reserve with picnic table and two seats overlooking reserve and river. You can also walk down to the water edge, where there is estuary with mangroves and at low tide, you can walk on rocky shore and explore rock pools.
Where is it located: Drive to Sandspit, past the Beach Street, Green Point Reserve is on left side of the road, on a sharp corner.
Approximate duration: 10 to 15 minutes
