Pohuehue Waterfalls
Located on old SH1, just few kilometres before Warkworth, is Pohuehue Waterfalls walk. It’s pleasant short walk through native bush. At the top of the waterfall is a little viewing platform.
If you’re looking for longer track, try Beverly Price Loop Track. Approximately 4km long track will take you through dense mature forest, wild and remote at places. Walk starts past the bridge at the beginning of Waterfall walk and ends in the same place. End of the track (or beginning, depending where you start) follows gravel road used by foresters, then descends down to the carpark. Pay attention as some steps have been damaged by rain and haven’t been repaired yet. Track is suitable for moderate fitness level, some sections get muddy after rain.
Where is it located: old SH1 before Warkworth (north of the Pohuehue Viaduct)
Approximate duration: Waterfall Walk 15 minutes, Beverly Price Loop Track 2 hours
Dogs are prohibited.
